Miles Hunt

Miles Hunt is principally known as the lead singer of The Wonder Stuff, one of the three groups to lay claim to the Stourbridge throne alongside Pop Will Eat Itself and Ned's Atomic Dustbin.

Over the past 20 years The Wonder Stuff have notched up 5 top 20 albums and played to hundreds of thousands of people throughout the UK. Best known for their number 1 single with Vic Reeves, Dizzy, the band have performed hundreds of TV shows with their 17 top 20 singles and made 2,000,000 sales worldwide.

When the group split in 1994, Miles took time out with a VJ-stint for the MTV Europe music channel hosting the popular 120 Minutes show.  He then returned to the music scene with the short-lived Vent 414 before undertaking a series of acoustic dates across America with fellow Wonder Stuff member Malcolm Treece.  This led to the release of a number of acoustic, live and solo albums including Hairy On The Inside, 5 Songs EP and The Miles Hunt Club.

In 2004, IRL released the first new Wonder Stuff studio album for ten years, 'Escape From Rubbish Island' and have since continued to release a series of singles and albums with a new live album due for release later in 2007.

Miles' first solo album release in four years came out in October 2006, the highly rated 'Interloper Live 2006' album featuring a mixture of tracks recorded at live dates during the previous year.

Having played 7 festivals and 2 UK tours in 2006, Miles and Erica Nockalls (The Wonder Stuff's fiddle player) recorded the incredible new album ‘Not An Exit’ (released by IRL in March 2007), which is currently being heralded as Miles’ finest work.

In April and May the duo took to the road for a six week tour performing acoustic versions of old and new Wonder Stuff songs, as well as selected titles from the album.  Erica brings a new dimension to set, playing fiddle on classic Wonder Stuff songs as well as on songs that have never featured the instrument before. The strings throughout the entire set show the more roots/folk side of The Wonder Stuff’s songs.

By way of introducing each song in the set, Miles recounts stories of life on the road, tales from The Wonder Stuff and life in general.

It's a double dose of Miles; the singer-songwriter and monologue-ist!
