Festival In The Desert

Sharon Shannon
Sharon Shannon is currently touring Ireland throughout July and August promoting her new album 'The Galway Girl...The Best of Sharon Shannon'. On 25th July see her perform with her big band (including Shane McGowen, Damien Dempsey and Mundy) at Womad Festival. This month's issue of Word Magazine includes 'The Galway Girl on the covermount. Sharon's latest album is out now and can be bought together with Damien Dempsey's latest release at a special price.

The Wonder Stuff and Miles Hunt & Erica Nockalls
The Wonder Stuff are having a short break having just played some very special shows in the UK, their first in 18 months. The band will be back in October to play their Eight Legged Groove Machine shows at Birmingham Carling Academy and London's Shepherd's Bush Empire. Miles Hunt & Erica Nockalls continue to play shows around the UK throughout July and August before touring America in September.

Justin Adams
The winners of the BBC Radio 3 World Music Awards for Crossing Cultures are still playing around the world promoting their fantastic album 'Soul Science'. This month the band play all over the UK, Russia and Portugal. Catch Justin at Womad Summer School at this years festival.

Damien Dempsey
Damo continues to play Ireland throughout July and August. He will also be playing a very special show with Sharon Shannon's Big Band at Womad Festival in the UK, before playing The Wickerman Festival in Scotland on 26th July. At the end of August he heads back to the US to play the Kansas City Irish Festival.
